Things to tweet about…what to share on social media sites

If you have head me talk about social media, then you’ll have probably heard me say this before, and I’ll say it again; that using social media for business is about building relationships, not just broadcasting sales messages.  Part of building a positive relationship with a follower, fan or connection is to share useful or interesting information and to share your knowledge of your subject, to establish yourself as an authority in your field.  Achieve this and not only will they keep in touch, but you’re more likely to be referred, recommended, shared and re-tweeted. 

 

So here is a list of things you can tweet about or share on other social media sites;

 

• Events
• Sales and discounts
• Competitions
• Industry news and developments
• Pictures – of your products, events, and more.
• Staff news – new staff joining your teams
• Achievements – awards and nominations.
• Ask questions – how can we help?
• Press coverage
• Customer support – look for people mentioning you and respond to their comments, or requirements (positively!)
• Product tips  – serving suggestions,ideas for using your products etc
• Respond and join in the conversation where relevant.

 

But…DON’T FORGET!.. ensure your are complying with your social media policy, as well as  confidentiality and data protection requirements.
